Synopsis

Synopsis

Desperate for some dough, Shankar (Shreyas Talpade), a petty thief succeeds in stealing from a local Don and escapes by joining a team of doctors heading for relief work to Bangkok. Synopsis
For an ordinary guy working as a bartender in Jimmy’s Pub in Bandra, Anthony (Nikhil Dwivedi) works towards an extraordinary dream to become a big Bollywood star. Sikander Bhai is Anthony’s benevolent benefactor and also the owner of the pub. Maqsood and Riyaaz are partners in the business too. But the main dealing of the small gang is “Bhai-giri”. And Anthony is oblivious about their illegal activities.One day, Anthony meets a girl named Riya Pereira (Amrita Rao) who is Assistant Director on a film being made by an NRI filmmaker, Ms Bharucha. Synopsis

Ashfaque (Ajay Devgan) comes from a small town aspiring to become an actor in the Hindi film industry. He stumbles on a street theatre group run by a reformed dacoit named Sidhu, (Pankaj Kapur) who makes good use of the medium to reform and awaken the masses, and joins it. However, Ashfaque struggles to give a creative vent to the actor in him. He realizes that becoming a big film star is his real goal and is determined to get a break in movies.

He soon gets a part to play and is also given a new screen name – Sameer Khan. In time, he acquires better roles and starts to climb the showbiz ladder very quickly. He, almost immediately, gets renowned as an actor of finesse; one who can easily get under the skin of every character and compel the audience to applaud.

Thanks to all the adulation and applause, he gradually loses his own identity and starts to imbibe all the characters he essayed on screen. His eyes open to the corruption that takes over his entire system but by then he already feels alienated from his loved ones, especially Sneha (Vidya Balan) his wife. An outrageous event at a party shocks him and he is instantly caught between himself on one side and his tainted superstar image on the other. Whether he emerges as a true life hero and combats the persisting evil is entirely up to him. What will he do?
